Application of different devices is part of interventional treatment, intended to save lives but can be life threatening if these are located in the wrong places. The commonly used devices include: nasogastric tube, endotracheal tube, central venous lines and umbilical peripheral venous lines in neonates. Every types of devices should be considered as medically inserted foreign bodies, all types of lines, tubes and catheters have the potential risk of displacement, fracture and other undesirable unexpected complications. The correct position of inserted devices should be checked immediately and followed periodically. Such events should be recognized on time by clinicians and radiologists. Most medical devices are usually radiopaque and visible on a chest or abdominal radiograph. Therefore it is useful for evaluating them radiologically, most commonly by radiographs. Incidental use of contrast media or sonography is indicated in some exceptional cases. The aim of this presentation is to show an overview of unexpected and undesirable complications of 9 different devices used in pediatric field. Several frequently or rarely observed cases from a large patient material will be discussed.  }, keywords = {}, url = {https://www.icrjournal.ir/article_75437.html}, eprint = {} }
