MRI of Thumb UCL Tears

Abstract

Ligamentous injury of the thumb and capsular disruption are often subtle enough to be missed. In this tutorial we will discuss anatomy, etiology and clinical features of normal and injured Ulnar Collateral Ligament of Thumb. We will also discuss classification of UCL injuries and review MR findings of normal and injured UCL.
Capsule of 1st metacarpophalangeal joint, UCL and adductor aponeurosis are all will be accounted for in this tutorial and some MR imaging review will be held.
We hope that this tutorial brings off a thorough explanation about UCL and its injuries.
